On Saturday November 4, 2006, Sunray
Pro Wrestling returned with NEW Ownership! The event was held in the
Grant Street Community Center; 2547 S. Grant Street Melbourne,
Florida 32902.
(1) In a Grudge Match, Wade Koverly defeated Barney Rumble.
It was obvious by crowd reaction that Rumble was not liked here in
Melbourne. During the match Rumble complained to referee Billy
Dalton that Koverly was breaking rules at every instant they locked
up. On armdrags he said Koverly pulled hair. Rumble backed Koverly
to a corner and buried a shoulder in the ribs but his next corner
move was missed when Koverly was nowhere to be seen but by another
armdrag. Rumble escaped that with an eye rake but he missed a rope
legdrop when Koverly moved again. Koverly hit Rumble with dropkick
for two but when they got to heir feet Rumble used a questionable
low blow. Rumble and Dalton exchanged words and chest shoves but
Dalton shoved Rumble into a small package pin for two. Rumble hit
another move and complained to Dalton again. Koverly snuck up from
behind and sent Rumble to the ropes cheat first going for a pin.
Rumble grabbed the top rope to stop his momentum but Dalton kicked
his hands and Rumble was pinned by what looked like a quick count.
Jerry Spence went to introduce the second match of the evening but
he spotted the former Sunray Tag Team champions the Black Market in
the crowd. Murphy and Machete came into the ring and thanked Mr.
Spence for inviting them to watch the event. The Market thanked the
fans for the great ovation and said they would be wrestling again in
SPW soon. That last statement brought out the Heartbreak Express who
took a microphone to badmouth the Market. While their backs were
turned Modern Day Theory came out and attacked both teams. When
things finally settled down Machete said tonight was the fans lucky
night, they were going to fight both Modern Day Theory and the
Heartbreak Express somehow.
(2) David Mercury (w/Amy Vitale) defeated Super Destroyer #8 via
countout.
Before the match began Mercury insisted the referee find out if #8
had a rabies or tetanus shot recently. It took Mercury several
minutes to get on the offense as he tried to adapt to the #8’s
offensive attack. The attack ended when #8 went to the floor and
Vitale. Mercury came over and hit a plancha. Once back in the ring
Mercury got on the offense but #8 hit a low blow, only to be hit by
a forearm to the back. Mercury locked in a chinlock trying to get a
submission but the fans were behind #8 who fought to his feet,
hitting two clotheslines and a Samoan Drop. But instead of covering
Mercury #8 went to the floor again and the lovely Ms. Vitale.
Mercury was waiting and hit #8 with a clothesline but his piledriver
was countered into a backdrop. Just as it looked like #8 was going
to beat up Mercury again, Vitale kept him distracted long enough so
Mercury could get back in the ring and beat Kentucky Jordan’s ten
count to win via countout.
(3) In the “Biggest Man on Campus” Match, Ray "Snowman" Snow fought
“400 Pound Monster” Torcher (w/Snake Master Abudadein) to a double
DQ.
Torcher hit the ropes trying to knock over Snow but twice Snow stood
his ground. The third time Torcher missed a clothesline and was
knocked to the mat by Snow. Torcher slid to the floor for a folding
chair but Snow stopped him and dragged Torcher to each top
turnbuckle and drove his head into it. But the last one was stopped
and Torcher hit several punches and two corner splashes. The third
time Torcher hit boot as Snow raised his into Torcher’s face. Snow
hit Torcher with an elbow drop and then a legdrop but both times he
got a two count pin. Snow took his focus off his opponent and went
to the floor to beat down Abudadein. Torcher followed him out and
the two men fought around ringside and back towards the locker room
area. When the referee demanded the action come back to the ring,
both men grabbed him and sent him crashing into the fans. The
referee had no choice but to call for the bell and declare it a
double DQ.
Before Jerry Spence sent the show into intermission Kentucky Jordan
came out to tell the fans and Spence that the Black Market would be
involved in the tag team title match, making it a gauntlet match.
(4) In a match to crown a new Sunray Cruiserweight champion, Chasyn
“Not Cocky” Rance won the title when he defeated Naphtali and "Mr.
630" Jerrelle Clark.
At the bell both Clark and Rance grabbed Naphtali and both grabbed
an arm working it over. Next they tried to see who threw the harder
punch to Naphtali’s head. With Clark not looking Rance rolled him up
for two. Rance and Clark traded moves while Naphtali took time to
get his arms in working condition. Instead he got taken down in a
double leg sweep and stretched once more on the mat. Naphtali got to
his feet but Clark and Rance went to the floor as Naphtali ran the
ropes so many times he needed a few moments to get his breath on the
floor. Clark and Rance got in the ring and wrestled once more with
Clark hitting an armdrag, hiptoss and dropkick. Naphtali brought a
chair in the ring and wanted to use it but Clark refused to remove
his foot. When Clark finally moved his foot the chair came up
smashing Naphtali in the face. Naphtali got revenge when he used the
chair as a launching post for an enziguri. He sat Clark in the chair
but his attempted kick to Clark’s back but instead he kicked a
chair. Naphtali offered his body as a launching pad but Clark
dropped both boots from the second rope and the next offer was
stopped when Rance kicked Naphtali in the gut. Clark hit another
move before going up for the 630 splash but Naphtali cut that off
going for a superplex but Clark fought back sending Naphtali to the
mat. This time Rance used Naphtali as a ramp to hit a boot to
Clark’s face. Naphtali went for a kick to Rance’s back but opted for
a reverse chinlock. Clark came back to the match and dropkicked
Naphtali to the mat. Clark went for his handspring 450 but Rance
kicked him in the back before he could fully execute the move. Rance
placed Clark on the top rope for a superplex but Naphtali sling
shotted himself into the superplex hitting Rance with a power bomb.
Naphtali went up top but when he landed it was on both feet and then
he hit an elbow drop. Clark got to his feet and hit Rance with a
pump handle slam of sorts. Clark slammed both men to the mat and hit
a springboard flip on both of them. All three men hit suplexes but
neither could get the pin on the other. Next they traded sunset
flips, inside cradles and other pin attempts for two. Naphtali hit a
double underhook power bomb for two and the frustration level
reached a boiling point. As Naphtali had Rance in a chinlock Clark
hit both men with a leg lariat. Rance locked Clark in a dragon
sleeper but Naphtali hit Rance with a shining wizard. Clark fought
off Naphtali and hit the Jerrelle Driver for two. Rance and Clark
fought out of several moves before Rance was able to hit an Emeral
Frosion like move to win the match. After the match Clark raised
Rance’s hand in victory.
(5) In match one of the Sunray Tag Team gauntlet, Black Market
(Murphy and Machete) defeated Modern Day Theory (Preston James &
Scott Commodity.)
Via a coin toss MDT got first crack at the Market and they seemed
very reluctant to lock up with the former champs. Finally Commodity
and Machete locked up and it was Commodity getting taken to the mat
with a snap suplex but as Machete went for an elbow Sean Davis
grabbed his ankle. It did nothing as Murphy came over and stepped on
Davis’ hand. The Market made several tags working over Commodity but
he was able to tag in James who got knocked to the mat by a Murphy
shoulder tackle. MDT was on the defensive until Phil Davis
distracted Machete. James snuck up from behind and hit a double ax
handle to the back. MDT went on the attack as they went after
Machete for several minutes. They even got some help from the HBX
when they tossed Machete to the floor. Murphy almost got himself
DQ’ed by the referee for trying to aid his partner. Amazingly
Machete wasn’t pinned and after hitting Commodity with a clothesline
he tagged out to Murphy. Machete came back in but Sean Davis tripped
him up. This allowed James to go for a corner splash but Machete
moved and rolled up his opponent to win.
(6) In match two of the gauntlet, Black Market (Murphy and Machete)
fought the Heartbreak Express (“Superstar” Sean & “Fabulous” Phil
Davis) to a no contest.
As soon as the match ended the Express jumped Murphy and sent
Machete crashing to the floor. The Express used double team tactics
to try and wear down Murphy and it worked for a while but they
couldn’t keep him down for the pinfall. The onslaught went on for
several and I do mean several minutes before Murphy tagged out to
the now rested Machete. Machete avoided a clothesline and hit the
Express with one of his own. Just when it looked like Phil Davis was
going to be pinned, Sean Davis picked up referee Billy Dalton and
clotheslined him to the mat. Dalton called for the bell and threw
the match out. The teams argued about who won the match and who were
the best in Florida. Machete said they should fight next event for
the belts. After Sean Davis stopped screaming I think he accepted
the challenge.
(7) “Modern Revolution” Steve Madison won the over the top rope

wrestling Heavyweight champion. The Battle Royal Participants were:

Scott. Scott got rid of Torcher, Rivers got rid of Scott, McCoy used
Madison as a battering ram to eliminate Rivers and Madison
eliminated McCoy. After the match Mr. Spence spoke to Madison about
his victory and his shot at the Sunray Pro Wrestling Heavyweight
title anytime he chooses. Madison made sure the title shot was
ANYTIME he wanted before leaving the ring.
(8) In a Sunray Heavyweight Title 4 Way Elimination Match, Erick
Stevens defeated Ray Beez (w/Bennie Bennett), Taurus and “Mourning
Star” Marcus Hall.
With so much action taking place in the match, there will not be a
full description. You should have come out to see the show like
everyone else did. Instead:
(A)Ray Beez eliminated Marcus Hall via pinfall with the Bum’s Rush.
(B)Stevens eliminated Taurus via pinfall. (C) Stevens won the match
when he hit Beez with the Sarasota Powerbomb.
However as soon as the match ended Steve Madison hit the ring and
then Stevens with a folding chair. Madison slid out and handed Mr.
Spence the contract for the title shot and the next match began and
it ended just as fast when Madison hit Stevens with a piledriver.
Steve Madison is the new Sunray Pro Wrestling Heavyweight champion.
After the match Stevens took the house mic and challenged Madison’s
attack. He called out Steve Madison to put the title on the line
December 8th.
